I think the only person that was able to follow it was Grant Moorison - Overall it was a good story - but I have no clue how it fit into the overall Batman world - it was just all over the place - and it makes me wonder if all of this is just some Elseworlds madness...?

Perhaps. I did get sort of lost on the story, it felt a bit rushed and confusing. BUT I guess they just was the detective on us to figure it out. Perhaps reading it a 2nd time will clear it a bit more tehehe

The real problem with the story is it when no where really fast. Typical Grant Morrison; it's all in his mind and we should know better.
He was working on Final Crisis and I can tell there were things he wanted to do but just couldn't get them done. It's like he had all the stories in his head and they just never seemed to make it to the page.
But to his defense he's written some great stories like WE3 - WE3 was genius! I'd never thought a story about a dog, bunny and a cat would be so interesting.
